Equity & Inclusion
To show up in ceremony, we need to be able to show up fully embodied as ourselves. To do this we need to be valued as inherently human and as equals. Ceremonies that are heart-led to me ought to be free from hierarchy and domination, centring the most marginalised among us. In this way we create the sacred ground to be seen and held with all the intersections that make us who we are respected. From here we can ready to honour the life transition that the ceremony is marking.
As a celebrant, I wholeheartedly embrace the rich diversity of human identities, cultures, and experiences. I am committed to providing services that are inclusive, respectful, and affirming of all people. Celebrating uniqueness, heritage, queerness and divergence from dominant societal norms is central to what I do.
I understand the importance of creating spaces that honour each individual’s unique journey, and I strive to ensure that all ceremonies I lead reflect the values of love, equality, and justice. I am deeply committed to antiracism and work actively to dismantle harmful systems and practices, creating a welcoming environment for people of all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
I do not and will not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia in my work and reserve the right to terminate an agreement should I encounter any such behaviours.
As a celebrant, I am committed to creating an environment of equity, inclusivity, and respect for all individuals. My approach is deeply rooted in my values as a queer person of colour and my commitment to antiracism. I firmly believe that everyone deserves to have their birth, death, love, life, and milestones celebrated with dignity, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, or identity.
I strive to create ceremonies that reflect the diverse identities and cultures of those I serve, ensuring that all individuals feel seen, heard, and valued. I actively work to dismantle systems of oppression and exclusion, and I reject all forms of discrimination, including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and ableism.
Whether you are celebrating a wedding, honouring a loved one, or marking another significant life event, I am here to provide a space where your story is respected and your ceremonial needs are met. I am dedicated to fostering a welcoming, brave, and affirming environment for people of all backgrounds, orientations, and identities.
Above all, my goal is to find the beauty of each person’s unique journey, and to celebrate with love, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to justice for all.
My work centres the celebration and honouring of the lives of underrepresented people and who have historically been othered; global majority, working class, queer, neuro-divergent and those living with health conditions.
